Bring on the Champions!

By: Scott | Comments No Comments

On Sunday afternoon, our boys will trek west, to the edge of town, to take on the most recent champions of Argentina–San Lorenzo de Almagro. Though their form recently (14 points from 10 matches, 3 behind Argentinos) does not match the furious pace of last tournament, they definitely are still one of the most [...]

“Pelé’s Brother”

By: Scott | Comments 2 Comments

Olé, the sports section of the newspaper Clarín, did a very nice write-up on our boy Pereira.  Almost perfect, except for the fact that…it’s also racist at times.  Anyway, click here for the link to the original for those who can read Spanish.  My translation is below.  A decent story about a great guy.  Hopefully [...]

Where We Stand

By: Scott | Comments 4 Comments

Almost every one of Argentina’s top division clubs has played 10 matches (they are still working on completing these things in a logical manner…outlook doubtful), which marks the halfway point of this 19 game tournament. What does this mean? What do the next 9 matches hold? What role will Argentinos play in [...]

All Hail Alvaro (Argentinos 4 - Newell’s 0)

By: Scott | Comments 11 Comments

Alvaro Pereira, who has been consistently lauded in this blog for his pace, imagination, effort, and overall soccer ability. Overall, those things have been lacking in this Argentinos squad, especially item #4. Argentinos 2 - Banfield 0

By: Scott | Comments 2 Comments

Victory once again is ours.  The result is nice, but the method was not exactly what could be hoped for.  75 minutes of agony looked like they were going to extend to a full 90.  The crowd was growing restless and the players were desperate.  It was exactly the sort of moment where a HERO [...]

Lawyers, Doctors, and Birthdays, oh my…

By: Scott | Comments No Comments

Whoops.  The blog has not had a new post in a while, mostly due to two things: f’ing lawyers palming my money to only spend it on expensive escorts in their beach house and the extensive preparation for my girlfriend’s birthday.  Believe me, a week away for that is surprisingly short.  All the same, I [...]

Back on the victory horse

By: Scott | Comments 4 Comments

***This post was written by Martin, who is having trouble with his login***
First post, let’s make this short and easy to read. I’m also a fan of Argentinos, the kind that goes to the stadium almost every single time. I’m helping Scott with this blog and the idea is to maintain everyone informed about [...]
