Various news and notes
By: Scott |1. Happy birthday to me. You’re welcome for reminding everyone. Don’t worry, I had a great time.
2. Congratulations to River Plate, the latest champions of Argentina. Don’t kid yourself, they couldn’t have done it without the three points they took from Argentinos in, sadly, perhaps the best match Argentinos played on the road all season.

Looking to avoid Eight Belles’ fate
By: Scott |What? it’s too soon? Fine, I got two-year-old Barbaro jokes that I’ve never been able to use. Anyway, the idea is “down the stretch we come”, etc. The season is finishing up and Argentinos Juniors is (for once–and probably last) in the thick of something, though it’s not the title.
Finally, Bigger Things to Worry About

It will be a riveting attempt at payback for a highly disappointing 1-0 loss in [...]
Remember us? Well, we remember you.
By: Scott |We’re back after a lolng layoff. Nothing happened while you were all out living your lives. Congratulations on any promotions, engagements, births, etc. Argentinos Juniors fell HARD again Estudiantes de La Plata two weeks ago…3-0. Yeah, I sort of went into hiding
“Pelé’s Brother”
By: Scott |Olé, the sports section of the newspaper Clarín, did a very nice write-up on our boy Pereira. Almost perfect, except for the fact that…it’s also racist at times. Anyway, click here for the link to the original for those who can read Spanish. My translation is below. A decent story about a great guy. Hopefully [...]
Where We Stand
By: Scott |Almost every one of Argentina’s top division clubs has played 10 matches (they are still working on completing these things in a logical manner…outlook doubtful), which marks the halfway point of this 19 game tournament. What does this mean? What do the next 9 matches hold? What role will Argentinos play in [...]
